He’d shown Friedmann how to cut into cinder blocks with an angle grinder. When Anderson examined the mortar joints, just as he’d done in the jail, he saw blemishes and discolorations. Hall said that he hadn’t made them. He also said that, on the day Friedmann surrendered, he had seen him take away several plastic storage crates in a U-Haul truck.
